Digital Transformation of Optics Experiments in Undergraduate Physics Laboratories: A Practical Approach

In line with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, it proposes low-cost, practical alternatives to traditional methods using open-source software and mobile applications. A curated set of experiments demonstrates how tools like Tracker, ImageJ, and Phyphox can improve measurement accuracy, foster computational thinking, and support hands-on, minds-on learning. The paper also highlights challenges such as calibration, teacher training, and skill transfer. This approach offers a scalable model to enhance engagement, inquiry, and skill development in modern physics education.
